Ministries

Healing and Prayer Ministry:

We offer the ministry of healing and prayer for special needs at all of our services.  This normally takes place during the time of Communion alongside the Minister’s stall.  Please avail yourself of this ministry as you have need.

 Prayer Chain:

Emergency prayer needs may be directed to the Prayer Chain who have a number of people who will hold that need up to the Lord.  If you have a need for such prayer, or if you feel called to join in this ministry.

Library and CD Ministry

We have a library of Christian books, situated in a room off the church foyer.  In addition, you may order CDs of sermons either for loan or for purchase.  Please order by way of the pew card.

Social Concern:

We seek to support materially the work of various organizations, e.g. the House of Resurrection Haven, St Christopher's Home for Street Children and the Salvation Army's work at Greenbushes, among others, through appeals that we have from time to time.  This is in addition to donations that we make as a parish as part of our tithing. We are part of the Exodus Initiative, a Christian Based Community Organization and a vehicle for a wide grouping of Churches to make an impact in society. 

In 2007, we started a project entitled "The Esther Sewing Class" in an informal settlement area about 8 km from our church. The classes are run at a home for abandoned and abused babies in which home we are also involved. Seven women from the area currently attend these classes. They make patchwork quilts and handbags. The women receive half the sale price and the other half purchases more material which makes the project sustainable. We are keen to expand this project as it provides some income for people, who are largely illiterate and part of an impoverished community.
